Earning Certification in Quantum Computing: A First Step Into a New Future

I recently accomplished a significant milestone in my ongoing educational journey: completing a certification in quantum computing through LinkedIn Learn.

Why Quantum Computing?

I’m an avid enthusiast of science fiction, and quantum computing holds the key to bringing many of the awe-inspiring concepts from sci-fi films and TV shows to life. Naturally, delving into this groundbreaking technology is an irresistible pursuit for me.

Quantum computing stands at the cusp of redefining the future of computational ability. Using quantum bits or qubits, these advanced systems are designed to perform intricate calculations at speeds that classical computing could never achieve.

When this transformative computing power is integrated with Artificial Intelligence for instance, the possibilities become even more staggering. AI has already made inroads into various sectors like healthcare, finance, and automation. The computational prowess of quantum machines will further elevate AI’s capabilities, making algorithms more effective and quicker at problem-solving than ever before. Through quantum computers, AI will be supercharged; elevated to mere “god level”. And this is what excites me the most about the prospect.

A Kaleidoscope of Mathematics

There is a lot of math involved in quantum computing. What I found most captivating about the LinkedIn Learn courses were the intricate equations alluded to in understanding the nature and behavior of qubits among other elements in quantum computing.

Qubits have the unique ability to exist in multiple states simultaneously, thanks to the phenomenon of quantum superposition. Mathematical equations elegantly capture the dynamic evolution of a qubit’s state, detailing how it changes in response to external influences.

I strongly suggest that anyone contemplating a similar educational journey should fortify their mathematical skills prior to embarking on it.

The Imperative of Staying Updated

Remaining at the forefront of developments in quantum computing and AI is a personal priority for me. Given the profound opportunities these technologies promise, missing out is simply not an option.

By delving into these LinkedIn Learning courses, I’ve armed myself with the knowledge and skills to engage meaningfully with what are arguably the most transformative technologies of our time.

Thus far I have gained over 20 licenses and certifications in quantum computing, blockchain, AI, and virtual reality. I intend to possess at least 100 certifications by early 2024.
